SnapBack™ Recovery
Protect what you carry.
Track it. Tap it. Get it back.
Give your bags, tools, luggage, sports gear, camera cases, and other important items a digital recovery identity. If someone finds your item, one tap can give them a safe way to help return it.
How it works
From protected to returned, in three steps.
- 1
Protect it
Attach or assign a SnapBack-enabled NFC touchpoint to an item you don't want to lose.
- 2
Lose it
If the item goes missing, mark it lost from SnapBack.
- 3
Get it back
A finder taps the device, sees the recovery experience, and can report it found or use the contact options you've approved.
What can you protect?
Anything you'd hate to lose.
SnapBack works anywhere a SnapLink NFC touchpoint can go.

Privacy
A finder never sees everything about you.
SnapBack is built so returning an item doesn't mean handing over your identity. The recovery page shows only the information you choose to approve for it.
- The recovery page shows only what you've approved for it to show.
- Your full SnapLink profile is never exposed to a finder automatically.
- Your private account details stay private.
- A finder gets exactly what they need to help return the item — nothing more.
Safe & Lost
You control when an item is actively being searched for.
Your item is protected and has a working recovery identity, ready if it's ever needed.
Mark the item lost to let a finder know it's actively being searched for.
A finder's report doesn't automatically change your item's status — you're always the one who decides.
One SnapLink account
SnapBack lives inside the SnapLink account you already have.
Your protected items sit alongside your existing SnapLink identity — no separate SnapBack account or app to set up.
Hardware
Powered by SnapLink Tap.
SnapBack-enabled NFC recovery touchpoints attach to bags, tools, luggage, cases, and equipment — the same durable SnapLink Tap hardware already used for profiles.

Common questions.
What is SnapBack Recovery?
SnapBack gives an item you carry a digital recovery identity. If it's lost and someone finds it, they can tap the SnapLink NFC touchpoint to reach a safe recovery page and help get it back to you.
Does SnapBack use GPS?
SnapBack's current recovery experience is NFC-based. The finder taps the SnapBack device to open the recovery page. Live GPS/location tracking is not part of the current SnapBack Recovery experience.
What happens when someone finds my item?
They tap the device, see your recovery page, and can report the item found or reach you through the contact options you've approved.
Can the finder see my full profile?
No. The recovery page only shows what you've approved for it — never your full SnapLink profile or private account details.
Can I mark an item lost?
Yes. Marking an item lost lets a finder know it's actively being searched for. You can mark it recovered again once it's back.
Can I use SnapBack for tools or luggage?
Yes — SnapBack works for bags, tools, luggage, sports gear, camera cases, and most items you'd attach a SnapLink Tap touchpoint to.
Do I need a separate SnapBack account?
No. SnapBack works inside the SnapLink account you already have.
What happens after I get my item back?
You can mark it recovered, and its recovery identity stays ready to protect it going forward.
